Baby New Year!

This year, we had the best start to the new year with the arrival of baby Stella Rose Driscoll!  Our New Year's baby was born at 2:53pm on January 1, 2014, weighing 8 pounds 5 ounces and was 20.75 inches long with brown hair (though she is mostly bald!) and blue eyes.  Of course, we are all in love and Mia is so sweet with her baby sister.  Here are some photos of Stella's first month!

Holiday Memories!

I am a little delayed in posting this due to our new arrival (who will have her own post soon!), but we had such a fun holiday season this year!  It was the first year that Mia was able to understand Christmas before it arrived, so we really enjoyed the excited anticipation of the holidays.  We attended several parties and children's events, held our annual Ornament Swap at our house and, of course, enjoyed lots of holiday crafting and baking at home.  On Christmas Eve, family came over to our home for our traditional Feast of Seven Fishes, which is always extra special because our entire neighborhood is lit up with luminaries and Santa stops by our house to deliver a gift before he flies off for his regular Christmas Eve deliveries.  It was the perfect way to spend the holidays!

On a Roll!

While Mia has been able to roll over for months now, it is just within the past few weeks that she has started to use her skill to really move around the house. She can now quickly roll across the room to get to a toy or anything that catches her eye, which of course she loves to do. She has also begun to scoot around the floor, though she seems to do better moving in reverse :)  Attached is a video of Mia showcasing her rolling talent (along with her favorite rattle)!

Halloween Fun!

Halloween was a lot of fun this year - Mia eagerly anticipated the holiday, and we did a lot of celebrating!  We attended a Halloween cookie decorating party, a MOMS Club party, a neighborhood parade and party, a Halloween event at the Roger Williams Park Zoo and, of course, we did the traditional trick or treating on October 31st!  This year, Mia decided to dress up as a unicorn (we were lucky to find a costume that was pink and purple, which are her favorite colors!) and she really enjoyed decorating pumpkins, baking treats and doing arts and crafts in between parties - it was a holiday filled with fun!
